Certification
Programs
Minnesota GreenStar
Minnesota GreenStar is a green building standard and certification
program for both existing and new homes. The project is registered
with Minnesota GreenStar by the builder, architect or designer. Before,
during and after construction, a third-party rater tests the home and
verifies performance to Minnesota GreenStar standards. Upon passing,
the home receives Minnesota GreenStar certification at either a
bronze, silver or gold level of achievement.
Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Homes Program
Homes built under the Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes Program provides
homeowners with the peace of mind that they are living in a more energy-efficient
home. This is proven through third
party verification and testing. We hire an independent third party
who tests all of our new homes, both during the construction process
and after the house is completed.
Green Built
Home™ Program
Green Built Home is a voluntary green-build initiative that
reviews and certifies homes that meet sustainable building and energy
standards. Similar to Wisconsin ENERGY STAR® Homes Program, the
Green Built Home Program focuses on energy efficiency. But
taking that a step further, the Green Built Home Program awards
points for house positioning on the site, landscape conservation,
storm water management and materials used in construction.
LEED Rating System
The Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is
a third party certification program. As the nationally
accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of
high performance green buildings, LEED certification provides independent
verification that a building project is environmentally responsible
and a healthy place to live and work.
