Family Room Remodel
Typical of most older homes the Johnson’s family room was separated
from the kitchen. They engaged J-Mar to expand and open up the two
rooms for a more family friendly space. The incorporation of green
building techniques resulted in energy efficiency that decreased heating
use by 50% while dramatically increasing the family's comfort level.
The project began by removing the wall between the family room and
kitchen. The wall behind the kitchen sink was relocated and a bay window
installed. The remodeling work was certified under the Green Built
Home™ Program of Wisconsin in 2006.
